During the first week of October, Amazon opened a 4-star store in Bluewater, a mall situated southeast of central London. Apart from this store being the first Amazon 4-star store, Amazon is opening outside the US, it also stands out as the first shop the company is opening in the UK that sells non-food and non-perishable things.
This store is similar to Amazon’s 4-star in New York and other outlets across the US. This Amazon shop in Bluewater will be selling products that are rated 4 stars above. The products you can find in this store will include top sellers or trending products tailored to the e-commerce giant’s UK website.
The shop might not be able to carry all the products that are highly rated on Amazon’s site, so the selection in-store will be curated. Various goods across high categories such as customer books, electronics, kitchens, games, toys, and homes would be found in the store. Some products from small businesses in the UK, and the company’s own devices like Echo speakers, Kindle e-Readers, and Fire tablets, will also be included.
Just like you can find different organized sections on the Amazon website, you will also find the shop divided into a similar pattern. So there will be a “Most Wished For” section, which will have products from “Wish Lists”. “Trending in Bluewater” will be another section that will display things that the local customers normally buy, while the “Most Gifted” section will have the main items that people order as gifts. Amazon also promised to frequently switch out products depending on the feedback from customers, so that they can meet up the current trends.

One thing you would not find in this shop is Amazon’s “Just Walk Out” technology, which you can find in the company’s Fresh grocery shop in London.
The “Just Walk Out” is a special feature that permits customers to enter the shop and collect whatever they want from the shelves and walk out without having to pay at the self-checkout counter. All they need to do is to purchase whatever they want from Amazon’s UK website and come to the shop the next day to pick up their orders.
